Summer School on NLP&IR

(In cooperation with ACL and SIGIR)

21-23 July, 2011    Beijing

     Two of the most prestigious and influential professional associations for Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Information Retrieval (IR), ACL and ACM SIGIR will, for the first time, jointly offer an exciting summer school for people working on NLP and IR.

     The summer school is organized by the Chinese Information Processing Society of China (CIPS), and co-supported by Tsinghua University and Beijing Language and Culture University, will be held at the Yifu Classroom Building in Beijing Language and Culture University from July 21st to July 23rd, 2011 preceding the SIGIR 2011 conference.

     We are fortunate to have some of the most prestigious researchers in the area of NLP and IR to deliver lectures for our summer school:

         Ken Church (Johns Hopkins University)

         Doug Oard (University of Maryland)

         Jianfeng Gao (Microsoft Research)

         Haifeng Wang (Baidu)

         Jianyun Nie (University of Montreal)


     Thanks to the support from ACL and other sponsors, we are able to organize the summer school with a low registration fee. You just need to pay 200 RMB (30 US Dollars) to register.

     During the period, T-shirts, lunchs and free ACL membership will be provided for all participants, but other accommodation matters need self-care.
